The Greek Music Archive belongs to the Lillian Voudouri Music Library – The Friends of Music Society. It has 52 Archives of Composers, Artists and Teachers, which are now classified as historical, since they are no longer of an official nature but are used for research purposes. The majority of them consist of original texts and manuscript scores, as well as printed matter, recordings, programmes, newspaper cuttings, photographs, correspondence, etc. The archive also contains printed material, such as the collection of books and magazines, which currently exceeds 8,000 titles and aims to be the source for the establishment of a complete Greek music bibliography. It consists of books on music and other related fine arts, such as ancient Greek art, Byzantine art, Greek theatre, Greek painting, Greek cinema, etc. Similarly, the printed scores of Greek works constitute the largest part of the collection, which includes works by past and contemporary composers, such as M. Kalomiris, G. Christou, Th. Antoniou etc. The Greek Music Archive has over 5,000 titles of audiovisual material, such as CDs, DVDs, VHSs, audio cassettes, 78′, 45′ & 33′ RPM records, reels, etc. These are recent or older releases, amateur or professional recordings and video recordings, mainly of art music, but also of folk and Byzantine music. The archive also includes rare editions of books and scores, manuscripts of Greek composers, correspondence, photographs and personal items of important personalities in Greek musical reality. The archive offers a wealth of material on all genres of Greek music.
