The Archive belongs to the Agiasos Reading Room, which managed to preserve the music and dance tradition of the Northeastern Aegean and the opposite coast of Asia Minor, by transcribing and recording old musicians. The archive contains recordings on magnetic tapes, reels of old tunes, interviews with old musicians, videos from video cassettes and film reels (material from the 1960s until today), handwritten sheet music, music books, teaching methods from the late 19th century, the archive of violinist Charilaos Rodanos, printed photographs, films, a wealth of printed and audiovisual material from the rich music, dance, and theatrical (recorded operettas) work of the Agiasos Reading Room from its founding in 1894 until today. The archive holds recorded approximately 200 pieces of music (from the 1950s onwards), a part of which was recorded in 1974 by the researcher musicologist Simon Karas.
