The Music, Folklore and Literature Archive of Simon and Angeliki Kara belongs to the Centre for the Research and Promotion of National Greek Music. The archive contains manuscript and audio-visual primary ethnographic material (recordings, video recordings, interviews, photographs), derived from field ethnographic research by Simon Karas and researchers of the Centre. The archive also contains printed material (books, concert programmes, newspaper and magazine cuttings, etc.) and secondary audiovisual material (discography, etc.), as well as a collection of folk musical instruments. The archive offers a wealth of material on Greek traditional music, Byzantine and ecclesiastical music.<\/p>\n
